~:C.C.4.U:~ Hadith: Expalanation Regarding fasting and Praying in Shab e Mairaj

 

   

 

Assalamo alaikum,

 

Dear All brothers and sisters in Islam there is a very long debate regarding 27 Rajab some say we should Pray in night and keep fast while other says we should not do since its Innovations, and they Quote a Sahih Hadith

 

                                        Wa sharrul Umoori Muhdathaatuhaa, Wa kulla Bid'atin dhaialah, wa kulla dhalatin fin-naar" Translation of the above Hadith: Every innovation is a misguidance and every misguidance goes to Hell fire 

 

 

The Above haidth is related for all kind of bad habits which are blameworthy innovation "

 

Abu Na'eem, narrated from Ibrahim al-Junaid, said, "I heard Ash-Shafi'i saying, 'Innovation is of two types: praiseworthy innovation and blameworthy innovation, and anything that disagrees with the Sunnah is blameworthy."

 

Imam al Bayhaqi narrated in Manaqib Ash-Shafi'i that he said, "Innovations are of two types: that which contradicts the Quran, the Sunnah, or unanimous agreement of the Muslims is an innovation of deception, while a good innovation does not contradict any of these things."

 

There are nothing wrong to Pray in special night and keep fasting on special days since Fasting and Prayer is a good thing

now let me prove by Sahih hadith that there are some good practices which are not prohibited
Kindly check below two Sahih hadith :

 

Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: He who introduced some good practice in Islam which was followed after him (by people) he would be assured of reward like one who followed it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect. And he who introduced some evil practice in Islam which had been followed subsequently (by others), he would be required to bear the burden like that of one who followed this (evil practice) without their's being diminished in any respect.
Sahih Muslim Book #034, Hadith #6466 (part)

 

Note: In above Hadith Prophet sallallaho Alaihey wasallam is clearly saying that He who introduced some good practice in Islam which was followed after him (by people) he would be assured of reward like one who followed it so if somebody pray in night of 27 Rajab or any other night and keep fasting in the day is a good practice.

There is one more Sahih Hadith which proves there are good innovation in islam

 

Another Hadith Regading Good Innovation:

 

Narrated Abu Huraira Radi Allahu Anhu : Allah's Apostle said Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam , "Whoever prayed at night the whole month of ramadan out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven." Ibn Shihab (a sub-narrator) said, "Allah's Apostle Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam  died and the people continued observing that (i.e. Nawafil offered individually, not in congregation), and it remained as it was during the Caliphate of Abu Bakr and in the early days of 'umar's Caliphate." 'Abdur Rahman bin 'Abdul Qari said, "I went out in the company of 'umar bin Al-Khattab one night in ramadan to the mosque and found the people praying in different groups. A man praying alone or a man praying with a little group behind him. So, 'umar radi alllahu anho said, 'In my opinion I would better collect these (people) under the leadership of one Qari (Reciter) (i.e. let them pray in congregation!)'. So, he made up his mind to congregate them behind Ubai bin Ka'b. Then on another night I went again in his company and the people were praying behind their reciter. On that, 'umar remarked, 'what an excellent Bid'a (i.e. innovation in religion) this is; but the prayer which they do not perform, but sleep at its time is better than the one they are offering.' He meant the prayer in the last part of the night. (In those days) people used to pray in the early part of the night."  
Sahih Bukhari, Book #32, Hadith #227

Note: One thing nobody can deny that Sahaba has the best knowledge after the Allah and prophet Muhammed Sallallaho Alaihi wasallam , In above Hadith Umar radi allahu anhu himself introduce Tarwaeeh in congregation  and also said
'what an excellent Bid'a (i.e. innovation in religion)  this hadith is available in Sahih Bukhari and nobody can deny since its sahih , so by these two Hadith its very very clear that there are some innovation (Bid'a) are good and nothing wrong to follow it.
Now its  up to you If you dont want to follow leave it but at least dont stop and  criticeise to the muslims who are praying and fasting,

just think brothers and sisters whoe are good the person who is sleeping in the night is bettter or the person who is praying in night

who is better,  the person who is watching movie and wasting time on net by doing bad deds is better or the person who

is having fast and praying five time.

 

Please don't create fitna in islam and dont spread misconception , and dont stop to our brothers and sisters from Praying

and fasting...since its already accepted good deeds and  

 

 

 

 

Conclusion:

 The prophet is Sallallaho alaihey wasallam said: "Innamal a`amalu bin niyyah", meaning the rewards of actions are dependent upon their intentions. So If anybody Pray and fast on the day of 27 Rajab, we should not say that its wrong, since we dont know what is his intention and  the same time let me clear that its not compulsary so we should also not criticise to those who are not keeping fast or not praying.

 

May Allah forgive me if anything wrong here by mistakes.
